Hi, everyone! I'm new here and delighted to find your forums. 3 days ago a little orange kitten, about 3 1/2 months old, wandered into our lives. We already have 6 cats indoors, but we couldn't leave him outside. Today he went to the vet and is now isolated in my office. Meanwhile, this afternoon a cat that looks almost identical to the one we took in showed up on the back patio. I thought she might be a sister, but her nipples are hard and bruised, and she has milk. She's so tiny, it's hard to imagine she has a litter someplace. She's dirty and scrawny and looks very weak. I made her a vet appointment, but she disappeared before I could get her in a carrier. She's back again now. I don't want to have her spayed or try to find her a home if she has a new litter to nurse, but I don't know for certain that a., she actually has a live litter, or b., if she's tending to them. I can't follow her when she leaves because when she sees me she comes running up to me wanting attention. Are there any tell-tale signs that babies have been feeding recently? I haven't been around new mommies much, so I don't really know what to look for. Any suggestions? Thanks, Stef
