There is this cat that has been hanging around my moms house for awhile now and just recently we noticed she was pregnant. Well about three days ago I went over to visit my mom and noticed the cat laying on the back porch and she was pushing. I went out to check on her and she was leaking red tinged fluid. I stayed there for about 5 hours and the whole time she leaked fluid. I thought for sure she was having them since she was pushing and leaking all of that fluid. Well here it is three days later and I called my mom to see how the cat was doing and my mom said that she did not look like she was doing well at all. She said there are flies all over her and that she was acting lathargic and drinking a lot of water. Her stomach is still big and it dosent look like she has had any kittens. Just a side note when I checked on her I seen no kitten movement so i don't know if any are alive but her belly is huge so there are a lot in there. She won't really let you touch her too much she bites so I can't really get a good look at her rear. I made an appointment to bring her into the vet tomorrow morning but I called my mom and she said the cat dissapeared so I think she may have gone off to have her kittens or she may be in trouble. My question is, is it normal for a cat to leak so much fluid for so long before the actual birth? If I can find her and catch her i'll take her in but at this point im wondering if she's dying or if im overreacting.
