A new stray has chosen us to be her new home. I could have swore the NO VACANCY sign was on... Just kidding! She just showed up the other night when I was putting the 10 outside children in their enclosure for the night. I did my usual head count and closed the door when I heard the fence rattle and a meow. I knew the three in/out kitties were in so I was a little confused. There by the tree was a little black and white tuxedo cat. I started talking to her and saw how bony she was so of course I went back in and got some food. I statred to put it down and move away when she came to me and sniffed the food and started rubbing against my legs and purring. I picked her up and went back to the house to put some kmr on the dry food since she was a bag of bones. We get alot of "one time strays" here who just pass through so after some food and love off she went.
Next day ...... no kitty.
Day three and I realy didn't think she would be back. I put the kittys up early due to a thunderstorm coming in. Once again she came running to me like a long lost friend. Couldn't leave her out in the storm so into the house we go. Hubby comments on just how dirty she was so I say bath time. Now she is not the first cat I have have bathed and I'm sure she won't be the last but she is the only one who loved every minute of it! We kept her inside in crate (every one here is crate trained at some point) but I forgot to put a disposible pad in the bottom, That resulted on another bath first thing the next morning. She is very loving and does not like it if I am out of sight. She is very unsure of other cats and will hiss. She did ok tonight when Stormy came in the room to sit on my husbands lap.
She is very thin and the very tip of her tail is missing but completely healed. I wormed her just to be safe. Her nipples look as though she has had a litter but there is no active milk. Given her state and the fact she is young I doubt any kittens survived. (I did let her out before I let the rest out and watched to see where she went. She just lounged on the porch.)
She is just an attention sponge right now... She wants all my time. She does seen a little lazy but with everything she has been dealing with she deserves some down time!
Still working on a name for her...
