Hello all! I have an interesting question... Me and my roommate picked up a stray cat, about 5 months ago. It's a gray... American shorthair? Anyway, there was a litter of kittens, and the owner had to give them up, so when we got the cat it was only about a week and a half old, eyes were open but couldn't see much of anything. Fast forward, I had to bottle feed the cat special formula and I have taken care of the cat pretty much by myself up to the present. Now he is a healthy and growing fantastic cat... except.... all the time, at random times.. he will become extremely vicious and attack my arms or hands. This isn't just playing around... these attacks are like, he is suddenly fighting for his life and the claws come out and he bites and scratches like he is fighting off a predator, there is nothing 'play' about it. Yesterday he got my hand when I wasn't paying attention and cut about an inch and a half down my hand which dripped blood onto the floor to give you an idea. All the rest of the time, he is fine, purrs very loudly, very lovable! I have no idea what is up with this cat.. it's like he is schizophrenic or something. Anyone have any clue to this behavior? One more thing, he ONLY does this to ME. Not my roomate, not friends that come over.. only to ME. What is up with my cat? Also, he is not fixed yet, that's coming up soon.
