I have been putting open cans of cat food in fridge , should I be putting in something besides the can ?
Mine won't eat leftovers no matter what container I put it in! If they don't finish it, I have to toss it ;(
It's better if you transfer it to some other container, but that being said, I stored it in the can. My neighbors say that one of their cats will only eat freshly opened food, and maybe the change in taste that sivyaleah has pointed out has something to do with it.
I initially thought that Jamie only wanted freshly opened cans, but it turned out it was the size of the cans that mattered to him. If the food wasn't in a single-serving can, he wouldn't eat it. That was mystifying till a guy who worked for a pet food company told me the food was cooked in the cans, so the smaller size meant less cooking and therefore more taste. It's better if you transfer it to some other container, but that being said, I stored it in the can. Wow, that's interesting! Who'd have thought the taste would be different. I'm sure not going to see if I can tell the differenceI initially thought that Jamie only wanted freshly opened cans, but it turned out it was the size of the cans that mattered to him.
