my kitten has fish breath. I’m taking her to the vet soon to make sure all is well, but what are some good methods besides brushing to keep her kitty mouth clean?
I think that a fish breath is rather normal in a cat, considered what they eat. I would say that it's the healthy cat breath
It gets worrying when the breath has a more... hideous smell, indicating that there might be dental or gum issues or GI problems.
Have you thought of an enzymatic toothpaste such as logic or CET. You don't have to brush their teeth if you choose not to, just put a little paste on your finger for them to lick or on their lips. It is supposed to work without brushing. It's always a good idea to have their teeth and gums checked by a vet just in case something is going on.
Yes That's what my vet said to do-I haven't had a chance to do it-And yes it works even if you can't brush. the enzymes in it break down the tartar. And of course a vet check once a year to check the toofies is a good idea.
