Carl has been sick all week (not surprising since he came from a rescue with 60+ cats in the same room). The shelter gave me some antibiotics (Clavamox) and he has had a full week of two droppers/day. So now I am done with his medicine and he is still snotty and sneezing.
He has gotten to the point of being sick where he is very sneezy and snotty (the mucus is thick and green, sorry TMI). I know with people, it is a good sign when you start draining the mucus, is this true in cats too?
I also know it is allergy season in most places. We live in South FL, and I don't have any allergies, so I don't really know what to look for in Carl. We do heavy cleaning once a week (vacuum, dust, etc). Could it be that Carl has allergies? I would think that since he is sneezing actual stuff (instead of just sneezing clear) that it is more than allergies.
Should I let the meds do their thing (done with dosage) and see how he is in a few days? Is it normal for a cold to last over a week?
