Stella came into our lives after being found in the middle of the road.
She was a perpetual kitten - always so small. But oh so full of life.
She always made us laugh. She gave us so much love.
She loved to sleep beside me and Jake.
There was something special about her. I don't know what it was. But I know that I am a better person for having her in my life.
Stella had anemia, the vet could not figure out why but we took her to all her appointments and kept up with her medication every day. She fought hard when it came to pilling time - boy, she was a fighter!
Then last week, she couldn't walk. It was an aortic thrombosis that rendered her back legs useless. The vets put her on an IV and looked after her so well and she was improving.
Yesterday, something seemed off. She wasn't Stella.
Then last night, I woke up in the middle of the night to see a white cat looking at me. I initially thought it was Kahu but he was sound asleep at Jake's feet. I believe it was Stella telling me that it was time to let her go and saying goodbye.
The vet emailed this morning and said that she was not improving anymore and when we talked today, she said that it was more than likely that Stella would continue to suffer. I had a cuddle with her and I could see it in her eyes that it was time to let her go.
I love you so much my Stella Bella. You will always be my baby girl. I will always carry you with me in my heart, forever.
