My baby is a domestic shorthair and is VERY staticy as well. She will either shock me or I her every day a ton of times... the house is really dry in the winter. I don't know what to tell you... sorry!
Water is your friend. Dip your brushes or combs in water. Honestly, I just lick my hand when I notice that I'm shocking my cats by petting them, but it's not the cleanest thing ever to do. The point is to put a little bit of water back into the situation because the problem is the extremely low humidity.
I have the same problem with Harley, especially if she's been running at light-speed through the house. She'll come up and zap me.
I try to brush her regularly, and we've been running a humidifier this winter to try to combat the awful dryness that the heat causes. Having the humidifier seems to help a lot with the static!
