I've been playing games that involve making Sam run up and down the stairs - I think he needs the exercise. So do I.
So we stand at the bottom of the staircase, and I throw the spongy ball up to the first landing. Sam gets himself set, then runs up the stairs until he is just below the top step. Then he crouches down, and slowly peeks over the top to see what the spongy ball is doing. If the spongy ball sees him, he quickly ducks back down. He'll do this a few times until he is sure the spongy ball has it's eyes closed, or is looking away, then he pounces.
It's too funny to watch - but if I laugh, it breaks his concentration and he just gives up.
