I have two spayed female kittens, one about 6 months and the other about 4. Yesterday I found that one is spraying urine on the walls in their "safe room." It's not peeing on the floor, it's little droplets on the wall. I had to use a black light to find the source of the smell. I think this may have happened before but I didn't use a black light and so never found where the smell was coming from.
What could be causing this? Could it be a UTI like for peeing outside the litterbox? If so, I'll make a vet appointment when the office opens on Monday. They both finished taking Amoxycillin for URIs a week ago, and they also had problems with ear mites and coccidea a month ago but they were treated.
Could it be retaliation? That's what my hubby thinks. We lock them in this room while the rabbits play in the living room. Their food, litterboxes, and scratching/climbing post are in here as well as their favorite sleeping spots.
Or could it be because I sprayed a little anti-allergen Febreeze after vacuuming on Friday?
What can I do to stop this?
