My older rescue kitty was just diagnosed with severe spinal disease. I knew she was arthritic which she was being treated for, but on Saturday she started walking funny and was not putting her bottom down to the ground. She still used the litter pan OK but with difficulty. Today the x-ray confirmed the disease acute likely slipped disc.
As she’s anywhere between 17 and 20 years old we are going to treat her with NSAIDs and gabapentin but beyond that is MRI and possibly surgery. However, at her age, I just feel like that’s a lot to put a kitty cat through unless a good prognosis. And that we never know. This is so hard. Thanks for your thoughts.
