Here's a fav of mine! The kids loved it when they were little - I used to play it for them on the piano and we'd all sing!

Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it's done so far
What's so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
What do we think we might see

It sure is -- and the lyrics are much deeper than you expect from a children's song.

Here's another little song that's deeper than it seems at first glance:

I'm building a houseboat in heaven
To sail upon deep and holy seas
I'm building a houseboat in heaven
And it's welcome aboard, you sweet, sweet peace

The cabin is made of solid silver
The hull, it is made of solid gold
She ain't much along the lines of floatin'
But she's yours, babe, to have and to hold

I rode my ol' guitar on up to heaven
But heaven didn't feel too much like home
So I'm headed out across that lonesome ocean
In my ruby-studded houseboat to roam...

Changed my mind! Here's one I used to play on the guitar for the kids when they were little - another fav of their's!

When it's midnight on the meadow
And the cats are in the shed
And the river tells a story
At the window by my bed
If you listen very closely
Be as quiet as you can
In the yard you'll hear him
It is .............

Yes, Heavenly Houseboat Blues by the late, great Townes Van Zandt! I was afraid I might have gone too Texan on you with that one... most people only know Townes as the author of "Pancho & Lefty," which Willie recorded so beautifully...

Good work!

Gordon Lightfoot's Pony Man (I think?) Maybe horsey man? something to do with horses at least that's how I've pictured it
I know it was Lightfoot
