I brought my 6 month kitty into to get spayed on Friday. She was doing well yesterday, ate well, was playing a bit and just looked like her normal self.
Today (Sunday) after approximately 48 hours she is starting to look pretty lethargic. She is still interested in her food and does eat normally, but has been sleeping on and off pretty much for the past 8 hours.
I took a look at her surgical site and this is what it looks like. She had surgical glue to hold the skin together and absorbable stitches underneath. I am noticing the top part appears a bit more open than was yesterday whereas the bottom part of the wound looks like dried blood. I am worried because this morning she was jumping around quite a lot and running a bit and there was not much I could do to keep her in place.
We took away her e-cone after an hour Friday night, since she was starting to hurt herself trying to get out of it (her mouth got stuck underneath the cone and was almost choking). So I made a small t-shirt for her to cover up the wound and it seems to be working. Have not seen her lick the area anymore and I am watching her like a hawk.
Does this picture look normal? Is that small open area at the top concerning?
Thank you all. First time cat parent here
