Wow, it's only been a short while since I registered here for a benign reason and here I am having issues.
My female tabby is 4.5 years old, otherwise healthy and a former stray I picked up when she was less than a year old. She is spayed and has been since I picked her up (She went through one heat cycle and off to the vet she went!).
She is a stereotypical "Cat", she's not very needy (or kneady) unless the mood strikes but she'll spend time around/with you or sleeps on the bed morning noon and night. She's always been a bit fussy about petting, being picked up or playing with the other cats. She's loud and likes to complain. In May I had a few guests and she was none too impressed and started a cycle of every now and then (Weeks, days, months) peeing on the bathroom rug or my clothes that are in the bathroom. It was a full load, no blood present, no other changes in her aside from knowing she was in trouble.
Last night, right in front of me she went down to squat on something I had on the floor. She's ballsy, but she's never done this in the living room (ALWAYS the bathroom, ALWAYS the rug). I grabbed her up and put her in the bathroom with the litter box and no rugs. As far as I could tell she didn't use the box and I let her out. I went out to petsmart to get a pheromone disperser. My kitten appears to be teething, and he's being a little nightmare especially to her. My big boy has been protecting my tabby and putting the kitten in his place when he feels like intervening. I figured she was doing this to let me know she's stressed and unhappy.
So, I put the rugs in the bathroom as they were being washed. This morning I went in the bathroom and there were three small spots on one, one small spot on the second. I could only see these spots UNDER the rug. These are not her normal "I'm peeing to pee" spots and two had a blood tinge on the top fibers. One was recent enough to be wiped up to confirm that it was pinkish on a white paper towel. I'm almost certain it's her because of her behavior. She's hiding, doesn't want me to touch her but she is still eating her wet food. She is, if possible, fussier than normal but had to deal with it while I held her grumbly butt and cried this morning.
I am isolating today with one rug in the bathroom and her with run of bedroom/bathroom and the boys with another rug in the living/dining/kitchen area to try and make sure I've got the right cat but...I think I do.
I also had two instances of vomit yesterday, one dry food one wet food. She's my only cat that detests dry food so I don't THINK that was her but after the second I can't be sure. I thought it was my big boy because he sometimes has a sensitive stomach, or runs around like a hellion on a full tummy but now I'm thinking his change in behavior may be due to hers.
So, I figured I would open discussion and see if I can get any advice, tips, similar tales while I wait to confirm which kitty it is and go to the vet.
