My kitten Lyra was spayed 9 days ago. When she came home she was remarkable - happy, eating, running around like it had never happened. We were very lucky
However about 3 days ago she tried jumping onto the kitchen counter and I think pulled something because she winced, moped a lot for the day, and some blood came out of her incision. I didnt worry too much about it, I just put a chair in front of the counter so she doesnt do it again.
This morning I was checking her belly as usual and her incision has swollen a LOT in the last 24 hours or so. I wouldve expected swelling in the day or 2 after her operation, but is it usual for her to swell 9 days post op?
The wound itself looks clean, and the swelling is very hard, like a walnut under her skin. This is my first female pet, so my first spay. I dont want to drag her to a vet if this is normal! Thanks in advance. x
