Hi everyone. My roommate's cat, who I have come to love very much, had to go to the vet last night for an urethral block. The vet gave him a catheter and flushed out his bladder. He prescriber him prazosin, bruprinorphrine, and clavamox. Im worried about how he has been acting since we came home last night. He slept in our room with us with the litter box, but never used it. When I woke up those morning his butt was wet like he urintated on himself. He woke up and drank so much water he vomitted it all back up. I only gave him small amounts of water the next couple hours after that. Since then he's had access to water at all times, and his food. Im worried about his behavior, for the last 11 hours he has laid in the same spot, only moving to adjust an inch or so. He also keeps urinating on himself. His whole under sode is soaked and smells of pee, I folded up a towel and picked him up to lay him on it so he wasnt so uncomfortable. Is this normal behavior after a medical condition like this? Or has anyone dealt with these behaviors? I'm really worried about him, he is typically very independent and plays with our other cat or comes and rubs on us for attention. He just seems really out of it, and I wonder if maybe the vet gave him too high dosage of meds. Any info you all have would be greatly appreciated. I have come to love him very much and consider him as my own adopted baby.
