Ok so what does it called when they sniff something and you see their mouth kinda open up when they are done. Does anyone know what that is called. They don't do it alot but does anyone know why they do that.

That's called the "flehman response," and it directs odors to the cat's vomeronasal organ, which is very sensitive.

Cats have a pair of vomeronasal organs (also called Jacobson's organs) on the roof of the mouth.
