Here it is blazing hot today and I am thinking about winter shelters! I was wondering if anyone has tried the solar pool cover over a winter shelter to help hold in heat. I have a 6x6x6 shelter logic portable shed. The outside covering is a waterproof, polyethylene cover. It heats the structure up well during the day, but as soon as the sun goes down, it does not help to retain the heat. I was thinking of attaching a solar pool cover to the structure. Of course the structure is not air tight and actually lots of air gets in. The front flap can put put all the way to the ground, but then the cats cannot see out and feel trapped inside. If fact they refuse to go inside. We are thinking of adding a piece of plexiglass (thanks Ondine) so the cats can see outside, but the front flap would then be either all the way to the ground with a kitty door or left a bit off the ground so they can get in and out. I have a few outlets outside so I also use outdoor heat pads for them. I was just wondering if the solar pool covers are worth it. Has anyone tried them or have pictures of their shelter with the attached pool cover?
Thanks!
