I'm new here and in need of advice. I have an older cat, at least 8. She's a rescue, her skull was fractured, her jaw broken & teeth shattered. X-ray's revealed signs of repeated trauma, multiple fractures over time I was informed. She had exposed nerves and by number of teeth was estimated at two years. She's been mine for the last six & her stools have always ranged from soft but formed to pudding. Fecal matter test showed no worms and the vet said it was likely IBD but she doesn't puke except for the occasional hairball. She's an otherwise healthy, 10lb silver gray cat. I tried transitioning her from Purina to science diet sensitive but she ate the Purina and left the science diet. I've tried probiotics & she hates them, flavored or not. She is not fond of canned food despite having no teeth, and there are two other cats in the house, both rescues, who are just as picky. I live in a small town so my choices on cat food is very limited. Without an actual test I can't be sure it's ibd, and was a little miffed that the vet just assumed that was it so let's do the science diet. Any suggestions?
