It is almost 10:30 and the pies have been in for just under an hour. So far they look wonderful, no drips yet in the new oven. The oven self-adjusted from 350 degrees to 325. They are looking good! I'll let you know how they taste later.
Sounds like they are well on their way to tasting wonderful.Originally Posted by Yosemite

It would certainly satisfy me. The pies are out and golden brown, evenly browned so having 3 pies in the oven at one time plus a foil tray on the lower rack was no problem for the heat circulation. I like it - no hot spots, no portion of the crust done more than any other - all good.Originally Posted by rapunzel47

I've postponed the jelly. A friend (who sometimes crashes here when his schedule prevents him from getting the ferry home) called to ask if there was room in the inn, so it's going to be a little zoo-y later on, and I don't feel like the juggling act. I'll do some sausages and some beans and some spuds and we'll be fine. Nothing special, but it will be satisfying.
Whipped cream is our topping of choice. What cut of pork are you using and what have you got with it in the slow cooker? It sounds wonderful - wish I were there.Originally Posted by Rosiemac
Ooooooh Linda those pies look lovely. Did you have them with custard or ice cream?.
I've got a pork casserole that's been in the slow cooker since 7.30.a.m and it smells so good!
Ooooh whipped cream is just as nice!.Originally Posted by Yosemite

Oh dear! I don't eat lamb. I could never get my head around it as I had a pet lamb as a child.Originally Posted by Rosiemac

You know i'm not sure what pork it is?. I just pulled it out the freezer and it's already diced just to put in the slow cooker.
I'm busy doing a test run on meats because i've got the girls coming for dinner at some point, but so far i'm going to go with diced lamb
I can understand that because i felt the same about pork and bacon when Gil took me to the farm to see the baby pigletsOriginally Posted by Yosemite
