I'm very worried about my cat, and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how to deal.
He hasn't eaten much in 48 hours. Two mornings ago was the last time he ate a meal normally.
That evening two days ago, my fiancee gave him his usual evening meals with a little water in added. He doesn't like to drink water from a bowl, so we usually add a little extra water to his canned food. He didn't eat his afternoon and evening meals. My fiancee thought this was maybe because he put too much water. The next morning, he gave him unwatered food, and he still wouldn't eat it.
Yesterday evening, he bought a bunch of different kinds of catfood, and some meaty baby food to try to get him to eat something else. he licked a little of the baby food up, and ate about half of one 3 oz can of one of the foods, and that was it. This morning he won't eat again.
He isn't acting lethargic or otherwise sick. He's walking around, alert and otherwise normal, except for not eating.
My fiancee is taking him to the vet for a drop-off appointment. I'm really scared and worried. And I'm out of town for the next 16 days, which makes me feel worse. I just want to hug him, but can't! and I'm fearing the worst.
How do you deal when your cat is sick and you have no idea what is wrong? And when you're apart for a long time? And is there anything I should be recommending my fiancee try to help entice him to eat? Any words of wisdom or advice are welcome. Thanks
