...there is a little dog a couple of houses up from us who cries when his owners go out. They are nice people - early 20s - and I don't think they realise this happens. They rescued Charlie from the RSPCA and I know they love him, but he does this quiet little sad cry when they're not home. Chester and Ruby get very upset by it.
Well, last night Charlie was crying and the dogs kept trying to go outside. You should see them, they stand at the fence and look in Charlie's direction, it's so sweet.
Last night I gave them a doggy chew as a treat - quite a big one - and Chester took his in his mouth and went and stood by the back door. I let him out, and he paced around outside for a bit, and then he went up to the fence, put his chew at the bottom of the fence, looked in Charlie's direction for a bit, and came back inside. I almost cried. Is that not the sweetest thing you've ever heard?? If only Charlie could know that Chester gave him his treat. Little man.
