My 8-year-old tortie has been battling coughing, sneezing and a runny nose for a while now. I was prescribed Orbax, which worked for a while, but less and less each time it was prescribed again.
The last time (late August) she was prescribed Orbax again and this time Prednisolone, as well. Now she is making this horrible, loud snoring sound while wide awake and is breathing through her mouth. I took her in for x-rays and an exam of her soft palate for anything out of the ordinary, but everything is clear. I think it may be the anesthesia required for the exam, but she is not interested in eating, either. She come running when she hears her food or if I shake her treat container, but she sniffs the food/treats and walks away. Maybe she can't smell her food and that is why she is disinterested???
Has anyone encountered anything like this? I am concerned that the steroids caused a bad reaction, but I have no proof that this is the case.
Thank you for any thoughts!
