Hi! I have 3 year old (estimated age) black cat named Ichabod. I adopted her in 2021 from a woman who found her as a kitten in the street, so I have no knowledge of her health/history before she was in my care.

She's fully vetted, altered, and UTD on all vaccines. Inside only cat, aside from occasional ear mites no health issues. No fleas as well.

Tonight I noticed a bald spot on her side with a small scab. No other missing fur and no scabs I could feel. She's eating and drinking and behaving normal.

Could anyone tell me if they've experienced this with their cat? Is it a situation I can treat or is this something for the vet?

I love her dearly and am trying not to worry.

TIA

I haven't noticed her scratching or grooming excessively if she is

Thank you! I'm wondering if she has a food allergy. Can those happen suddenly? She's been on the same wet and dry food for a long time. Can ear mites cause scabs on the body and fur loss? I've googled to no avail 🤷‍♀️

Hi, food allergies seem to cause itchiness. I don't know about mites or fleas but some cats can be allergic to flea bites.
