My dear Zorro has been taking chemo pills every 3rd day since winter…I feel as if I owe him a break just this one time. He’s freaking 18, and it’s HOT. I know those kidneys must be working overtime, and I don’t get, since he is in remission, why I need to keep on doing this. He actually seems more lively w/out today’s dose. Tomorrow I’m breaking down and looking into a mini split just for him, cos this heat is crazy…he is stoic, but the extra stress can’t be doing his organs any good. You have to try to do your best, whatever the circumstance. I guess this is more of a vent than a question, but maybe my question is: do you think it’s OK just this once, if I skip a chemo dose? I don’t want him to struggle with this heat AND the intense chemicals… a part of me wonders if he still needs it. It makes me feel a bit like Nurse Ratchet to his RP McMurphy….I just wanna bust out and take him on a fishing trip, a last hurrah!
