Single Kitten born, 26 hours old refusing to eat

The mother is a Calico so but I am curios as to why you say the genetics are interesting?

Because there are pure black and pure white kittens plus one cream one.  I would have expected more tuxedos but am not a geneticist by any means.

You might actually have a little color-point in there somewhere.  Either the white, the cream, or both could develop color points.

Are there 4 or 5 kittens there? It almost looks like 5.

But I agree, she could have had some color point babies. Only time will tell.

There is one that is as far as I can tell now totally white one

One Tuxedo

One Black and Orange

One dirty white

plus the orange premature one that didn't make it

At least you already know the gender of one of them (the black and orange one has to be female). :)

Wait, did you leave the dead kitten in the nest? Or were you just mentioning him?

No the dead kitten is buried and gone there is  just 4 there

I weighed the Kittens last night out of curiosity 

White 168g

Dirty White 160g

Tuxedo 171g

Black+ orange 162g

At 4 days old I would say they are doing just fine

So far, do good.  Keep us posted.  We're crossing fingers and toes for a good outcome for these babies.
