How do you separate your kitty's image from the background in the photo so you can paste it on a different background. I can only crop in squares. What programs is everyone using?
That's what I use, too. I only figured out the freehand selection tool a few weeks ago - before that, I was erasing the background!Originally Posted by flisssweetpea
I use Paintshop Pro and use the freehand selection tool - it makes cutting out the kitty's profile quite easy. Sometimes it takes a little working around the finer detail though.
I use to do the same thing too & it sure does take a long time!Originally Posted by jcat

I've still got to work on the feathering!Originally Posted by icklemiss21
I have Paintshop Pro and Photoshop but prefer Photoshop (PSP hasn't been opened in ages), I also use the freehand selection tool with feathering for the fluffies to get a smoother line
Your current sig looks feathered decently, the lines are just right... not too 'cut' nut not fuzzy either, generally I find it helps to layer a 2nd copy of the cat at a lower opacity or on 'soft light' setting and use a line type bush on low opacity to erase tiny pieces of fur to make it look like furOriginally Posted by jcat
