Thank you so much for caring and for your sweet wishes!
Sierra did not greet me at the door as usual, but then again, I was working later than my regular schedule, so maybe she wasn't expecting me yet? She came out of the bedroom telling me her thoughts about my being away so long.
She didn't eat all of her breakfast, but she ate about 1 1/2 oz and has not been sick at all. As I type this, she's munching on Pat's wonderful kitty grass!
She's happy and feeling more like herself. We're looking forward to crawling into bed in a little while and cuddling up!
Steph, it sounds as it the "pattern" was just a bit off. I know when I'm out of "schedule" Sasha doesn't greet me and eats only 1/2 of usual, if that. I'm sure she'll just rebound fine!!!! Thinking of you both today~~~

Stephanie, I just caught up with this thread. I'm sorry to hear Sierra's having some tummy trouble. When you have a cat with fragile health, you have to be so attentive to little signs, so I know how worried you must be. I know how anxious I get whenever Penelope's a little off-color. I'm praying that this is just an episode for Sierra and won't develop into a pattern.
By the way, did Sierra just start eating grass? Is it possible that's what is upsetting her tummy?
My prayers and thoughts are with you and sweet Sierra.
Rosie and Sophie seem to know my time for coming in from work also but if i go into town for a couple of hours on a saturday they don't make the noise like they do on a weekday so your schedule could have thrown Sierra?!.
Thank you, E, yes, our schedule has definately been off lately.
Yes, Colleen, you certainly understand the feeling of carefully evaluating each and every symptom. Thank you so much for your love and prayers, as you know you and Penelope always have ours!
We sure did enjoy our snuggle, Ariana!
Thank you, Fwan!
Sierra really enjoys her grass, and yes, I feel it helps to settle her stomach, Susan!
to you, too, Sandra!
Thank you, I really appreciate all of your support when Sierra isn't feeling well and I am gripped with worry. When it was time to get up for work last night, neither of us wanted to get out of bed! Sierra was lying on my neck, and I was rubbing her as she loved on my face with hers.
How nice it would have been to just go back to sleep! She ate about half her dinner, and no more vomiting. She was acting just like herself!
I'm so thankful, otherwise, I couldn't have possibly left her again for work. I will be calling the Specialty Hosp. this week to set up her appt. for an exam and labs. I was really hoping to find a Dr. who would come to us, but that doesn't seem to be working out as of now. I have 1 1/2 hours left to this shift, and can hardly wait to get home to my baby girl so she can enjoy her special Valentine's Day feast!
Sierra has an appt. Thursday with her Feline Internal Medicine Specialist. I had her appt. moved up a bit because she has had a few less than good days recently. I can see on these days that her blood pressure is elevated when it's getting close to time for her to receive her medication, so I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to increase her dosage. At these times, she will go to the bedroom and yowl, and she is very restless, going from one spot to another as if she is unable to get comfortable.
The veins around her ears also get darker. Also, on these same days, she has vomited her breakfast, and the oddest behavior of all on these days is she keeps going and sitting in the bathroom sink. Not drinking from it, just sitting in it. She's never done that before, ever?! I'll take her in the bedroom and we'll cuddle, then, she'll go get back in the sink. I'm just concerned about that.
At her appt, she will be sedated to draw blood for her labs and they will also check her blood pressure.
This is always a challenging day since the Specialty Hospital is 3 hours away. If it wasn't enough for Sierra to have to see the Vet, she also must endure the long transit time.
We appreciate all the prayers and support you guys will send our way.
And to you Steph, I know you worry, but you will make it through just like you always do. As you are everyday, you and Sierra are in my thoughts and prayers!
oh hunny hunny hunnies...Sasha & Saba send lots of hugs and prayers to their cousin out East. Steph, how unsettling, how very unsettling and what a helpless feeling when this happens. OH! I am crossingmy fingers it's going to be something easy at the vet and also for Sierra's mood at the vet too!
