Hi,
Im new here and was hoping someone out there may be able to help.
Quick explaination before I get into the serious questions... About 18 months ago we found a stray cat in bushland. He was tiny and in terrible shape. We took him off to the vet and he explained that he was very underweight and dehydrated and suffering from Cat Flu. He was only 4 weeks old. The vet was going to put him down but we agreed to take him in and get treatment for him in the hope that he would improve. He did and he became the most perfect, loyal and loving little cat.
Recently he started sneezing and was producing a lot of mucus from his nose and his eyes were weeping. We took him to vet and he said that it was an infection, antibiotics were given but then last night he had what seemed like a type of seizure and threw himself off the bed, his legs unable to support him. He tried to walk and his back legs dragged behind him.
Straight off to the vet. He said beside Chronic cat flu which he will have on and off his whole like he thinks he may have encephalitis. He is on antibiotics for a upper respiratory infection but he cant walk, wont eat, wont drink and sleeps all day.
I was hoping someone out there might have an idea of whether or not this is curable and/or what I can do, besides the antibiotics, to help him along.
I lost the most beautiful cat about 2 months ago and could not bare losing this beautiful little creature.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thanks
