I posted about two months ago about my mom's cat. She had some sort of face disease that left her face full of scabs. Mom took the cat to two different vets, both ran lots of tests, and still they couldn't figure out a thing! I don't know what the deal was. One vet was even a cat specialist!
The poor cat has been on meds every day of it's life for the past six months (nearly it's whole life). You've got to expect consequences when you have vets that don't know what the heck is going on and they give you treatment after treatment.
Well anyway. This is where the sad story gets even more sad. Three weeks ago (one week after she was spayed) she started peeing on my little sister in her bed at night?! A week goes by and the cat starts to pee on the kitchen counter regularly! Then another week goes by and she starts pooping AND peeing on the counter!
She goes to the vet again. They decide that the medications have somehow given her brian damage and she needs to be PTS! Oh my gosh!!!! You try to treat the poor thing, and it ends up killing her more or less! It's so frustrating.
The shelters won't take her because of her potty problems, the vet wants her put down, and my mom can't keep her if she's going to pee and poo all over the house. That's just not sanitary!
So I think her only choices are:
A) put her to sleep
or
B) take her to the farm
(which is where she came from before mom adopted her, just not the same farm she came from.)
I have no idea what's the right choice/the best choice. I just know my mom can't keep her, and my mom doesn't want to put her to sleep. It's a sad story either way. I'm glad I don't have to make the choice.
