An intact outdoor tom cat. He's off looking for a female in heat. If there aren't any in the close vicinity he's gone someplace where there is one - toms can smell a female in heat from a great distance.

:yeah: If there are other cats around and he's still intact that probably is where he has gone. Are your neighbour's cats all fixed? Do you know of any feral colonies around? Cats tend to congregate together, so he's most likely off with the other outdoor cats.

Have you asked all your neighbours if they've seen him? Put up a notice with his picture on saying;

Reward
for any information
leading to the recovery of Willie

People pay more attention to a sign that says reward than one that says lost cat.

But remember to put some money aside for the reward; it's a bad idea to renege on that kind of thing once someone has helped you.

We are putting up a sign soon. a big one. laminated. we are putting it up beside the road that leads to all the roads around here. we have talked to all the neighbors.
