I have a perfect 5 year old tuxedo cat named Molson (hence the screen name).
He is quiet, only scratches his scratching post, and has only had one accident outside the litter box in the 5 years we have had him. We adopted him as a 4 month old rescue and he has been a very welcome addition to our family. He loves his mom and dad very much and sleeps at my feet every night, sees me off to work in the morning, and waits for me in the window when I come home.
I want to get another cat, preferably a kitten, to keep him company. My husband is on the road a lot and I am only home for several hours a day -- we're both really busy people and I'm worried Molson is lonely. I know he sleeps a lot and seems to like the fact he's the alpha in the house!
Does it make sense to get him a friend to keep him company? What experiences have you had with introducing kittens to perfect cats?
I don't want to ruin my perfect baby Molson.
