in April of 2014, at six months old I decided to take two female siblings home. I was caring for the mom and the 2 cats and their two siblings. In total, 3 females one male plus mom. I was very worried and scared to take them. I was so TORN! but I knew I really wanted these two sisters and also wanted to leave the brother and the other sister with mom. I put the carrier down and pushed both into it and left, walked away while mom was busy eating about 20 feet away. The other sister and brother were either busy or asleep? I forget- it was hard but after about a week, both mom and the siblings were fine like nothing happened; same with my two i took home.

It's absolutely normal --mommas almost always start imposing an instinctual distance with their babies.
