Something is going on with my 21 year old cat, Pepe. I have not witnessed a full episode. This happened at least twice before.
In general, for his age, Pepe is in remarkable goid health. His site is imparred, has some arthritis and alergies. Due to malnutrition in early adulthood his hind end has always been boney, stiff and some what weak. He eats, drinks, sleeps and plays normally. His fur coat is healthy. He's a beautiful, social kitty. Everyone who meets him is surprised he is as old as he is.
Today I heard a smacking sound from the kitchen and Pepe yowled. He was lying on his side looking like he had colapsed. His bladder had emptied. The urine was in am 8 inch trail.
He didn't look disoriented, just distressed. He got up within 2 minutes. His walk was a little stiff but normalized quickly. He ate some breakfast, drank water and jumped up on the couch to be petted.
If he is having seisures, they are petit mal. Could also be mini strokes. I have read that diabetes could cause either, which is treatable.
Pepe used to be a really good patient but now he hates going to the vet. His skin is tough and veins small, hard and roll around. The vets has a hard time drawing blood or giving him shots. I have fired 3 vets that have hurt him. I am torn as to what is the best corse of action that's in his best interest.
