I have a 15 year old healthy female cat. Lately she has been peeing inside, I will clarify by saying she has no litterbox and usually does her business outside. These events have become deliberate. We hang up towels in the bathroom to dry and she pulls them down and urinates on them. This originally started 2-3 months ago when I brought my kitten home. The kitten has since left and we have removed all of the kittens things from the house and scrubbed things down. The urinating has continued. About a week ago my brother moved in and brought all of his new things. I understand that can put more stress on her but it is something that could not be prevented. She has favorite/routine spots she likes to go. Does we have tried washing these things (clothing) with special things to remove odor, and thrown out the things that are not washable. She makes new favorites. Is it time to get her a litterbox or does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, definitely get a litterbox...and if you can get two boxes...since she is 15yrs and an elderly cat, she will appreciate having two boxes, placed in areas that are easy for her to access.

You don't have to get traditional litter boxes, even ones like clear plastic underbed storage box, which are longer and lower, or rubbermaid tote boxes and cut out the front or side for easier access.  Both can be bought at stores like Home Depot, Walmart, Ikea or online on Amazon.  Something like these...http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-40-Qt-Premium-Underbed-Box-in-Clear-PC271606-001/204793104  or this...http://www.thecatsite.com/products/rubbermaid-storage-box
