Yesterday, my wife, Kathy, and I were going to pick up a car from being serviced when I saw what looked like a little puppy lying in the street. As we got closer, Kathy could see it was a little kitten. We both it it was dead, but as I looked back, I saw it raised its little head as a truck just barely missed it. Kathy pulled in a driveway to turn around and I jumped out of the car and ran back to the kitten. I stopped traffic and went to pick it up; thinking it was badly hurt and would just take it to the vet to be PTS. To my surprise, the kitten got up and started running down the street. I took off after it. Finally it got off the road and ran under some large bushes. By this time Kathy was drving up and parked the car looking for me. She could hear a hissing cat, but could not see me as I was under the bushes with the kitten. Finally, I got it by the scruff of its neck and off to the vet we went. Miraculously, the only damage was torn bottom lip. The kitten is having surgery today to repair the lip and it looks like I have cat number eleven.
