Oh dear, it is always so difficult to lose a kitty like this. My heart goes out to you.
I know I don't have to tell you this, and everyone is different, and there's a "time" for everything. But there have been a few times in my life where the tragic loss of a kitty is closely followed by the adoption of a stray or a kitty that was on "Death Row." To me, this can help take the heartache away a little bit.
But, this is not how it works for everyone, and I realize that.
I pray that whatever happens for you, that you will have comfort. You gave Scratch a good life, and that's all we can expect.
