Hello Everyone!
We have two cats from the same litter, one scottish fold, and one scottish straight. One male and female.
When we got the cats, we knew already that these style of cats (especially folded ears), might have more closed nose canals than most cats, which would result in more liquid coming from the eyes.
This we clean at least 2 times a day, normally with cotton wipes (the circle ones used to remove make-up and so), bathed in normal temperature water, and they do not mind to be cleaned at all, so it does not seem to be any pain in this area.
I have had the cats to the vet 2 times, one for the last vaccination, and another for a health checkup (was some small stomach problems).
When i mentioned this to the vet, they just said it is normal, checked the nose canals with colored eye drops (none came out of the nose later) and they asked just to continue to clean it.
Now due to the skin always staying wet on one eye, you get this skin that looks like scarring, and i was wondering if there is anything i can do to make the life of the cat better? Creams, specific medicine and so, and if there is any good way to remove the brown coloring made by this liquid?
I will attach a picture here, and the problem is mostly around the left eye. The other cat does not have these problems at all. The picture does make it look worse than it is though!
I am quite new to this forum, so if i lack any information, please let me know so i can update my post!
