ewwwww... I literally have the goose bumps just reading this thread, then Leah goes and posts that picture!

I swear I'm itchy all over!

All I can say is thank GOD I don't live in the south...I've always said "wouldn't it be nice to have warm temps all year?" not if that includes those things!!! I'll stick with fireflys and lady bugs... the most dangerous we have around my house is mosquito's and ticks! And that's enough for me!

Yup, snakes & scorpions are common in this area! Fortunately, cats consider both a great delicacy (I was raised that cats have jobs - Pest Control) and my crews have elimated any potential problems. We also have false scorpions (wind spiders?) and potato bugs (earth babies) that can inflict a painful bite on paw pads,so any that make it to the house are smushed, and in the yard, eaten by the hens. Ahhh, the joys of country living...
