I am still looking for ways in which to help my cat gain some much needed weight, and someone suggested kitten milk replacer to me...which I did not know even existed. But it makes sense; I've seen success with feeding an adult cat kitten chow, and assuming Kip will actually drink the stuff, I wonder if it would be okay for him to have. Anything milk-related has been hit and miss with him; he would not touch goat milk and he dry heaved with heavy cream, but he likes skim milk, of all things. Surprisingly, he does not get an upset stomach and bowel distress from dairy.
Just two questions: Is it okay to feed a grown cat kitten milk replacer, and, if so, is there a particular brand you would recommend? Preferably one that is not prescription? I have heard very bad things about Hartz brand milk, but good things about something called KMR. Unfortunately, I also don't have a Petco or Petsmart in my area, so I'm pretty much limited to WalMart and grocery stores.
