Zeno (kitten, 8 mos old) has developed a habit of chewing off the shoelaces of shoes. What are some good things to do to stop this? We want to wear our shoes around here, and that requires them having shoelaces.

I keep my shoes in a closet with a closed door. That's the only solution I found. I wear leather mocassins around the house and they have had the laces eaten/removed.

Very easy solution: Bitter Apple spray!

We put that on our shoes cause our dog chewed on some - she hasn't touched a pair of shoes since.

Bitter Apple works well with stopping kittens from chewing on cords too - so it will work on shoelaces.

My cats do the same thing. I got a shoe tree to hang in the closet. It keeps the cats from the shoes and frees up room in my closet.
