We're off to Utah for the entire week for a family memorial, and Sandy is going with us. We have few active members that I can see from where we'll be passing through, so I thought you might be interested to see the northern Rockies: eastern Oregon, Idaho, and then dropping down into the Salt Lake basin from the northern part of Utah.

Ya'll know I love to take photos...but this time I'm attaching the camera to Sandy's head
......so the travelog will be through a puppy's eyes...

if anyone is interested, I will post the photos?

Sounds great, E!
Though, actually the northern part of the Rockies actually end in northern Canada... perhaps you meant the southern Rockies?
At any rate, I miss the Rockies period, and would love to see pics.

But Jenn when people in the U.S. talk about The Rockies the northen Rockies are considered from Utah/Wyoming north to your border.

Are you serious? Wow.
Perhaps that explains why when I lived and worked out in the CANADIAN Rockies in my youth some of the American tourists would ask, usually in a southern drawl... "Is that in American dollars or Canadian dollars?" I had to actually stifle my laughter, which than became annoyance.

I know, it can be annoying. For international humanitarian interests, I hereby change my description of the geographical location to the "central Rockies" of North America.

I don't - I assume I am such a magnet everyone will want to see

Why not? I do

I'd love to see it, but don't want you to attach the camera to Sandy's head

We're back! Sandy thoroughly enjoyed herself, and here are her photos from the trip.....

We're off! And I get the entire back seat.

Dad drove about 80 mph through the mountain passes. He drove so fast, I had to hide under my puppy!

Finally! We get to stop in Oregon for some chow.

...and on the road again, this is outside Pendleton, Oregon, where they make all those famous blankets.

....and on through the state of Idaho at sunset. Look at this stud looking at me outside Boise! I almost jumped out of the car to go join him.

Mom & Dad were so flustered we had to stop. But I got my photo taken on the banks of the Snake River:

More driving through Idaho. This is a very dry area of our country that sits between the Rockies and the western Cascade Range.

Isn't he great? He's a black lab from Twin Falls, Idaho.

What kind of dogs are those, I wonder?

FINALLY! We cross over to Utah. I like it here! This is the great Salt Lake Valley. It was so warm and sunny.

Here are my Dad and me - so happy!
