Ripping up carpet problem

Is there any health reason she can't be exposed to the new kitties? Have they been seen by a vet and tested for communicable diseases? She may have a health problem, but with the peeing on your bed coinciding with her newfound confinement and the introduction of new kitties beyond the door, you may want to see how she does out on her own with the new kitties.

Is there any way you could put duct tape or something similar over the edge of the carpet where she is scratching around the door? It may be enough to discourage her from scratching. Also perhaps you could pick up a small carpeted scratching post - doesn't have to be big.

I think that is a great idea.
