Flocon ( the name means 'Snowflake') and his ginger brother, Booster, were brought in to our refuge four weeks ago, as their elderly owner could not care for them. Flocon was pure white, with one blue eye and one green, and very affectionate. They were big cats, around eight years old, but very frightened and spent most of their time cuddling each other in an opensided cage that became their safe place. The shelter decided they had to be adopted together, and fortunately a guardian angel turned up in the form of a young woman who fell in love with them and took them home ten days ago.
Today we heard that Flocon was found dead by his new owner last night. She has no idea what could have happened. The conclusion is that the total stress of being abandoned, then the shelter, then another move, was just too much for him. His brother, Booster, will be lost without him, and we do not know what will be best for him They have been together all their lives, and now he has a double tragedy to deal with.
