Last week I decided to take in a cat which had been sleeping in a car park for months. The cat had been neglected by her owner (who lived by the car park). The woman never let her in, even when the poor darling meowed day and night. She was starved, dirty, riddled with fleas, had conjunctivitis and her damaged teeth has been collecting fur in her mouth which lead to sore gums (you can see the fur hanging out of her mouth in the photo). The woman came out one day and gave me a dirty look for stroking 'her' cat! I felt I had to take action. At midnight, I went to the car park with my carrier. The cat didn't even mind when I picked her up and placed her in. The following day I made an appointment for the vets. She wasn't chipped or wearing a collar with a name tag, so I made the decision to have her chipped, and gave her the name Banoffee. The vet said Banoffee is about 13 years old! I could only think of how cruel her past owner was to have an old darling get in such a state.
After I gave Banoffee a shower (which she oddly purred through with no struggle!), de flead, de wormed, medication given for her eyes and infected ears and hours spent combing out the matted hair and remainder fleas, over the week she has started to shine! I have enjoyed every moment of making sure that Banoffee is treated with all the love she deserves, and
I will continue you to do so. I wish I could help all cats that are in need. Having three now, I think this will be my maximum...for now
