I wonder if it might be epilepsy. Sometimes the strangest things can trigger an epileptic seizure -- including a smell, a flash of light, a certain rhythm or frequency...

And although you say he did have something that was recognizable as a seizure, it's possible that he might be having more subtle seizures as well... episodes that cause him to feel pain or to be frightened, which could make him behave as you describe.

Whatever it is, it might not be something that an ordinary vet can easily diagnose. But since I see you're right here in DFW, I know there are lots of specialists around here. Are you aware of the veterinary referral center over on Trinity Mills Road?

There are 3,000 different types of seizures. From the classic Grand Mal with full body involvement to absence seizures lasting a few seconds and no visible signs.
After a seizure, there can be a period of disorientation in which they don't realize what happened, where they are or even who they or you are. This can be terrifying.

We have student who was diagnosed with seizures after a fall (caused by a seizure). It wasn't until they did the EEG that anyone realized she was having multiple seizures every minute. And she has seen multiple doctors over the years.

All of this info about seizures is interesting and would sort of put an explanation to this recent behavior. Last night he acted normal the whole night. (Normal being the way I am used to him acting.) Not one sign of anger or aggression at all. We played, he let me pet him, and he was coming to me with out hesitation, just like the cat from 3 days ago. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know if I should wait this out and see if he does this anymore or go ahead and take him to a specialist.
