My 8 year old black female cat contracted ringworm about 8 months ago. Even though she was treated with Grisosuven (spelling?) for over 2 months she grew steadily worse. Very pitiful at this point, the fungus is even in one eye. She has lost the use of one leg due to scar tissue. The vet has informed me that the stronger anti-fungal medications would almost certainly be lethal in her case. So at this point, I have no idea what avenue to pursue.
The cat does not seem to be in pain, eats well and has normal bowel movements. But, she stays asleep most of the time these days.
I feel she is dying, maybe. She has lost weight and continues to lose hair. If anyone has successfully dealt with highly resistant ringworm, I'd very much appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks.
