Why is it that cats suddenly decide to attack new things? OK I'm not wording this right. Why do they decide, after months or longer, that they suddenly want to go get at something they never bothered ever before?
I have what is actually a desk organiser on my nightstand by the bed, with my glasses, lotions, chapstick, etc in it to try to reduce the appearance of junk piles.
I also have a glass of water on the nightstand, and a glass of water for Genever. So she often jumps on the table and drinks her water at night. Last night, or rather this morning (4:30AM), she all of a sudden decided to start messing with the organiser and stealing my chapstick! She never ever in the almost 1 year we've had her touched anything besides her water glass on there! This time though she was DETERMINED to steal my chapstick. I kept whisper-yelling at her to get down, she'd jump down, then I'd get settled in the covers again, and she'd be right back up there batting things. After about a half hour of this I finally just dipped my fingers in her water glass and splashed her in the face, then she finally stopped. I am very much hoping she won't do it tonight, but I have a feeling she will...
Do your cats ever just all of a sudden begin a new habit or develop a sudden fascination with random, things/places?
