My niece and nephew's boys are pretty good with manners around me and mom. We both use canes and they will help carry things and open doors. (And don't mind hugging old fat great-aunty in public.
)

Mom used to get miffed with Dad because he was forever asking her to carry items for him in her purse - then ask why her purse was so heavy!

Jerry does the same thing to me.......here Honey, do you have room in your purse for this?? He says if it wasn't considered to be so feminine, he'd love to be able to carry a purse!
Don't tell him I told you that!

My husband does those things for me most of the time.

His table manners could be better.

My husband? He opens the door for me most of the time, but not the car door though. That's all.
